PRINCIPAL LAWYER

Monique Tran

Monique Tran arrived in Australia at the age of 4 years old.  She had left Vietnam with her family in a boat headed for Hong Kong.  Her father had been a navy officer in the South Vietnamese army, so it was he who captained and navigated the fishing boat to safety at Hong Kong Harbour.
Monique spent her child hood in Young, in the countryside of NSW. She completed her Higher School Certificate at the prestigious selective James Ruse Agricultural High School.  She graduated in her Bachelor of Laws at the University of Technology, Sydney.

It was at University that her interests in Human Rights, Refugee law and Criminal Law came to the fore.
In 1999, Monique travelled to Dubbo to work for the Aboriginal Legal Service as a criminal defence lawyer.  During her years working at the Aboriginal Legal Service, Monique successfully represented some of the most disadvantaged people, including children, in Australia, in the courts of Dubbo, Broken Hill, Bourke, Wilcannia, and Mudgee.

Monique also honed her legal skills with many of Sydney's top criminal lawyers and barristers.  Many of these lawyers have now been promoted to Magistrates, Judges and Senior Defence barristers.

In 2001, Arriving back in Sydney, Monique further pursued her commitment to human rights and criminal law with stints at the Justice Youth Law Cente in Randwick, the Legal Aid Commission in Penrith, and senior prosecutor at the NSW Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions at their Parramatta and Penrith offices.

In 2003, Monique founded Greenfield Lawyers, a specialist criminal law practice. She has extensive experience as an advocate in the Local, Children’s, District and Supreme Courts. Monique is admitted to practice in the High Court of Australia and has also appeared in the Administrative Appeals Tribunal of NSW, the Family Court, and the Federal Magistrates Court.

Monique is a solicitor who has built a great reputation amongst court staff, her peers, and clients alike, for her steely determination, aptitude and ability. Monique’s approach to her work is founded on the principles of competence, a thorough knowledge of the law and respect for each client in their time of need. Amongst her many skills, Monique is also fluent in Vietnamese. Monique has assisted clients in many matters ranging from sexual assault, serious assault, robbery, drug possession and importation, and traffic offences. Lisa Robinson

Lisa Robinson is a criminal defence lawyer who graduated with Distinction in law in 2008. She commenced her legal career as a paralegal with Greenfield Lawyers and has since developed into a very bright lawyer with a thorough knowledge of criminal law and procedure.

Lisa has represented clients in a wide variety of criminal matters including assault, drink driving, supply prohibited drugs, breach AVO, larceny and District Court appeals. She has an excellent record of delivering outstanding results for her clients in defended hearings, sentencing matters and appeals against both conviction and sentence.

Ian Lloyd QC

Ian Lloyd QC is one of Sydney’s top criminal barristers having worked at the Director of Public Prosecutors as a Senior Crown Prosecutor. For the last 10 years he has been a defence barrister practising between Hong Kong and Australia. He specialises in District Court trials and Supreme Court trials.
